Acknowledged by many as 'the real Robin Hood', Fulke's adventures take him across the medieval world whilst his enemy's reputation is doomed forever as a moustache-twirling villain. A celebration of Iain Crichton Smith's talents as storyteller, playwright, poet and his unique vision of Highland life and culture.
These village dramas are by turns moving, hilarious and uplifting. Crichton Smith's themes range from exile and lineliness to stoicism and final redemption, always tempered by his distinctive off-beat humour. We meet a host of fascinating characters, including Murdo, the author's alter ego, a kind of Scottish Don Quixote, tilting at the 20th century!
